AIMS
- Increase knowledge and motivation regarding physical activity
- Explore a menu of options for physical activity goals
- Develop SMART goals with ongoing refinement
- Offer physical activity training
APPROACH
- First Session : Assess fitness & explore motivation for physical activity using motivational interviewing
- Second Session : Explore options and develop SMART goals for physical activity & offer physical activity training
- Follow-Up Sessions : Integrate physical activity plans with other behavior change goals, continue physical activity training, & make a plan for sustainability
INTENTION
- Broaden clients’ view of physical activity for overall well-being
- Engage clients in a non-stigmatizing, health promoting behavior behavior to improve multiple outcomes
- Provide a replacement behavior to support behavior change
